Jeff Keighley Says Gamescom Will Be Full of Surprises
For the first time in three years, Gamescom will take place in-person. People will finally be able to join together in Cologne, Germany to celebrate all things gaming. Things will kick off on August 23 with Opening Night Live, the regular pre-show for the expo, and it will entail a showcase of over 30 games according to the German Games Industry Association.

Jeff Keighley will host the event alongside GameStar's Natascha Becker. Keighley recently hosted a Twitter Spaces session where he mentioned that fans can expect "a fair number of new games" to be part of the presentation. In total, he said that over 20 games will be on that stage.

On top of that, plenty of special guests will get in on the fun, too. And what's arguably even more exciting is that games that haven't been announced yet will come to the forefront. Keighley mentioned how many games that weren't ready to be debuted at earlier cons will make their grand introduction at GamesCom.

He went on to add, "We’ve got some good stuff. We haven’t really announced the line-up of companies that will be there, but I think we’ve got some cool surprises and things that I think people wouldn’t expect to be there ... There are a lot of games. We’re going to have 2 hours of content to show you [including] gameplay clips, trailers, and announcements."

One thing we do know about Opening Night Live is that it will contain a new look at Sonic Frontiers. There will also be first gameplay footage of Goat Simulator 3
