Knights of the Old Republic 2 Can't Be Completed in Current Form
It doesn't matter if the Force is with you on this one.
On June 8, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords became available on the Nintendo Switch. However, the title's been having some problems since it launched. Most glaringly, there's a game-breaking crash that happens after the Basilisk Crash cutscene upon landing at Onderon. As a result, there's presently no way to finish the game, which is causing a lot of headaches for gamers and porter Aspyr.
Aspyr Has Acknowledged the Issue
Daniel Moore, who goes by @Moo_Resolutions on Twitter, reached out to Aspyr on the social media platform to inquire about the problem. They wanted some kind of confirmation that Aspyr was looking to fix the issue.
To that, Aspyr responded, "Yes, we are aware and our dev team is working on delivering the patch as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in the meantime!"
Unfortunately, Aspyr doesn't provide a timeframe as to when players can expect to finally finish the port. However, seeing as how the game's already been out on the Switch for several weeks now, the sooner the patch becomes available, the better.
In addition to working on a patch, Aspyr's currently working on a Knights of the Old Republic remake for PC and PlayStation 5. And this won't just be a mere remaster. It's been said the game will be "rebuilt from the ground up" with modern technology and visuals. It's possible other consoles for this game will be announced at a later date.
