The Most Overrated Video Games Of All Times

The Most Overrated Video Games Of All Times
This one might anger a few of you, but it needs to be said nonetheless! Sometimes we look back at popular games with rose-tinted glasses, completely ignoring the simple fact that not all of our favorite games were very good. Don't get me wrong, I hold a lot of these titles near and dear to my heart but the harsh truth is if we look at these games objectively, they really may have been overrated in a lot of ways. Let's take a look at 10 of the most overrated games ever. Let us know your thoughts below!
Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto IV
Players waited a lengthy amount of time for the fourth entry in the GTA series. There was also an extensive marketing campaign to reach as many people as possible and build the hype. Upon release it was well received and made a huge profit for Rockstar Games. Alas, looking back it simply does not hold up. The gameplay is repetitive and the story is incredibly sloppy when compared to other titles.
LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet
This two-dimensional puzzle game had a lot to offer upon its release. Promises of a sandbox game with room for tons of creativity and fun gameplay simply did not hold up once players got their hands on the game. It suffered from poor functionality and little to no plot at all for anyone to follow and enjoy.
The Sims 3
The Sims 3
While there is not really much wrong with this entry in the 'Sims' franchise, it was plagued with an endless amount of expansion packs to make extra money for EA. It also did not offer much more in terms of gameplay when compared to the previous sequel. The lack of change and for profit system really tanked this game.
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: World at War
While a lot of COD games could have been selected for this list, ultimately COD: WAW has taken the slot. This was for a few reasons, one being that as a game it represents a lot of the mistakes the COD franchise keeps making with its games. It also undoes what much of Modern Warfare had established for players. Downloadable content became another issue for this entry, adding to the pay to play model which would haunt the series to this day.
